Understanding Collections

Collections are the central hub of the Vauch platform. They act as the storage containers for all your testimonials and feedback.

What is a Collection?

Think of a Collection as a folder or database for your testimonials. When a customer submits feedback (or you upload it manually), it is stored in a Collection.

The Vauch Workflow: Form → Collection → Widget

It is important to understand how data flows through Vauch:

  1. Forms collect the data. When a user fills out a form, the data is sent to a specific Collection.
  2. Collections store and organize the data. You manage, approve, or reject testimonials here.
  3. Widgets display the data. A widget (like a Masonry Grid or Carousel) pulls approved testimonials from a Collection to show on your website.
Note: A single Collection can be displayed by multiple different Widgets. For example, you might have a "Master Collection" that feeds both a "Testimonial Carousel" on your homepage and a "Masonry Grid" on a dedicated praise page.

Creating a Collection

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard.
  2. Click the "Create Collection" button.
  3. Give your collection a descriptive name (e.g., "Product Reviews", "Client Feedback").
  4. Your new collection is now ready to store testimonials.
Free Plan Limit: Free tier accounts are limited to 1 Collection. Upgrade to Pro to create unlimited collections.

Managing Collections

You can access collection settings by clicking the Settings (gear icon) on any collection card or page.

General Settings

  • Name: Rename your collection at any time.
  • Status: View the current status of your collection (Active, Paused, or Archived).
  • Masonry Widget Display: Choose a specific Masonry Widget to control how the collection page itself is styled when viewed in the dashboard.

Form Connection

This is a critical setting for automated feedback collection.

  • Select Form: Choose which Vauch Form should feed data into this collection.
  • No Form (Manual): If you select "No Form", this collection will only contain testimonials you manually add or import.

Danger Zone

  • Delete Collection: Permanently removes the collection and all testimonials contained within it. This action cannot be undone.

Best Practices

  • Separate by Source: If you have multiple products or services, create separate collections for each (e.g., "Course Reviews" vs. "Coaching Feedback") to keep data organized.
